DA team won the highest award in 2013 IARC

Team Throne, consisted of Ph.D candidates, master students and undergraduates in Department of Automation, was the only one who completed the Sixth Task in the International Aerial Robotics Competition (IARC). After an intense competition in Asia and the USA on 2nd Aug. to 8th Aug., Throne won a 40,000 dollar award supposed by the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI).

The International Aerial Robotics Competition was set up by Professor Robert C. Michelson, a famous roboticist working in Georgia Institute of Technology in 1991. IARC is sponsored by AUVSI. From 2012, the competition set up an Asia-Pacific venue.
