Expertise and Research Interests

My research focus is simulation-based performance evaluation and optimization of complex systems. In particular, I use the methodology of ordinal optimization, the theory of descriptive complexity, and event-based optimization and control, to solve problems in practical systems such as manufacturing systems, electrical power grid, and building systems. My current research focus includes:
