On December 26, 2020, the 15th China Xiaokang Forum with the main theme of "Building a moderately prosperous society in all respects and high-quality development" was held in Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province. Professor Li Shao from the Department of Automation, Tsinghua University won the award of "Top Ten Outstanding Contributors to the Construction of China's Comprehensive Prosperity in 2020" at the forum. The forum was jointly sponsored by Xiaokang Magazine, the Zhongshan Municipal Party Committee and the Zhongshan Municipal People's Government. Chen Changzhi, Vice Chairman of the 12th NPC Standing Committee, addressed a congratulatory letter to the forum. Gao Mingguang, former president of Qiushi Magazine, and other officials attended the forum.

Li Shao's achievement was reported on the front page of the China News of Traditional Chinese Medicine on Dec. 28 under the headline "A Talent in Chinese Medicine's Contribution to the Decisive Victory in Building a Comprehensive Prosperous Society in All Respects".

Xiaokang Magazine is affiliated to Qiushi Magazine, a publication of the Central Government of the Communist Party of China, and serves as a central government periodicals focusing on political and economic news.

Li Shao comes from an old and well-known family of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) practitioners and is committed to the development of TCM with the aid of modern science. For the past two decades, he has dedicated himself to interdisciplinary research encompassing bioinformatics, artificial intelligence, and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). His groundbreaking work has pioneered new paths in areas like network pharmacology and the integration of artificial intelligence into TCM. Through digitization, intelligence, and precision approaches, he has made remarkable strides in addressing challenges related to the preservation and advancement of TCM. Notably, his efforts have yielded significant breakthroughs in the knowledge and precise prevention and treatment of gastric cancer. He is known as the pioneer of network pharmacology research in TCM.
